There are a ton of environmental toxins around all of us—pesticides in our food, pollution in our air, and heavy metals in our water.
Today, we’re covering one of the most insidious toxins of all: Microplastics and nanoplastics.
Microplastics (tiny plastic particles <5 mm) and nanoplastics (so small they can cross biological barriers) are increasingly concerning because they’ve been found in human blood, lungs, placentas, breast milk, testes, brain tissue, and arteries.
The strongest evidence today suggests microplastics may contribute to:
Inflammation
Hormone disruption
Fertility decline
Gut dysfunction
Oxidative stress
Cardiovascular risk
Possible neurological effects
