Day 7. Maximize your productivity
The 7-Day Productivity Challenge | Exclusively for members of Club 12 with Dean Bokhari
Welcome to Day 7 of the Club 12 Productivity Challenge. When it comes to being productive at work or at home, we’ve all got different needs. Having said that, this final installment of the Productivity Challenge will serve as a set of recommendations to help you close any gaps you might have regarding your productivity efforts.
Two things before we dive in:
In this post, you’ll find a list of common productivity problems people experience. Below each problem, you’ll see a list of resources I’ve created for you inside Club 12 to overcome it. (Bookmark it in the Substack app or on the Club 12 website, so you can come back to it as necessary.)
Think of this as a menu of options, not a list of things you “have to do”.
Let’s dive in.
If you procrastinate
The problem: Resistance. You know what you need to do, but you delay starting — especially on tasks that are hard, boring, vague, or emotionally uncomfortable.
SOLUTIONS
Read or listen to Beat Procrastination, Part 1 (from Make it Happen)
Read or listen to Beat Procrastination, Part 2 (from Make it Happen)
Watch Day 2 of the Productivity Challenge: Create a task list you can actually get done
If you suffer from distractions or lack of focus
The problem: Distractions are expensive. Researchers tell us: every time we’re interrupted while focusing on a task, it takes about 20 minutes to get back on track afterwards. Phones, email, notifications, social media, meetings, messages, and random interruptions constantly fracture attention.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Take the Deep Work Masterclass to find your focus and get locked-in
Watch Day 3 of the Productivity Challenge: Find your Peak Performance Period
Read or listen to Day 13 of Make it Happen: Kill Distraction and Take Action
If you have a hard time with planning or structure
The problem: You start the day reacting instead of directing. You don’t have a written plan. You lack structure.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Watch Day 4 of the Productivity Challenge: Time-Blocking for Daily Productivity
Read or listen to Day 8 of Make it Happen: Roles + Goals
Read or listen to Day 17 of Make it Happen: Weekly Planning
Most people don’t have a simple system for deciding what matters, planning it clearly, protecting their focus, and following through.
Club 12 members have all the research-backed tools + frameworks they need to create a powerful productivity system that works.
If you feel overwhelmed
The problem: You feel mentally cluttered by all the tasks, obligations, ideas, projects, and open loops in your head.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Watch Day 1 of the Productivity Challenge: Conduct a Mind Cleanse
Read or listen to Day 14 of Make it Happen: The Action-First Principle
Read or listen to Day 20 of Make it Happen: Think Big, Start Small
If you have too many priorities
The problem: Everything feels important. You have too much on your plate and no clear sense of what matters most. You’re busy all day, but not necessarily moving the needle.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Watch Day 4 of the Productivity Challenge: Keep a master list + use the 1-2-5 Method™ to skyrocket daily productivity
Check out lessons 6-7 from The One Thing Course
If you suffer from burnout or have difficulty managing energy
The problem: You’re prone to burnout. You burn both ends of the candle. You haven’t yet realized that productivity is just as much about energy-management as it is about time-management.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Watch Day 6 of the Productivity Challenge: Take breaks
Watch this lesson from Master the Morning: Morning ritual for success
Watch this lesson from Master the Morning: Sleep Smarter
And that’s a wrap for the Club 12 Productivity Challenge!
Hope you found it valuable.
See you in the next one,
