Day 2: The 4 daily wins

The Greatest Year Challenge | Exclusively for members of Club 12 with Dean Bokhari

Welcome to Day 2 of The Greatest Year Challenge.

Yesterday, we talked about stretching yourself. Today, we’re talking about how to set the stage for a successful day…

If you’re going to have your greatest year, you’re going to need to establish a simple set of actions you can take each day to set yourself up for success—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Because how you start your day determines how the rest of your day unfolds.

I’m not saying you need to be a lunatic like I am and start your day with a 2-hour morning ritual…

All you need are 4 quick wins a day to prime yourself for success:

  1. A physical win (to activate your body). Your body needs to know it’s time to go. If you’re like me, this might mean crushing a workout first thing in AM. If you’re not a morning person, that’s fine. Just spend a few minutes moving your body to get the blood flowing: Do some pushups, jump in place, or spend a few minutes stretching. (Duration: 1 minute minimum, no max.)

  2. A mental win (to feed your mind). Activate your brain and prepare it for the day ahead by spending 5 minutes reading something interesting or listening to an audiobook or training. Pro Tip: Watching this video and engaging with Club 12 material counts as your mental win for today! (Duration: 5 minutes minimum, no max.)

  3. An emotional win (to fill your heart). Engage your social and emotional muscles. Connect with family or the people you love. It can be as simple as firing off a text message to an old friend just to say hello. (Duration: 3 minutes minimum, no max.)

  4. A spiritual win (to center your soul). Spend a few moments grounding yourself. This could be as simple as doing a 5-minute breathing exercise, meditation, or prayer if you are a person of faith. Alternatively, you could also spend a few minutes journaling to clear your thoughts. (Duration: 5 minutes minimum, no max.)
